2026 Men’s Major Singles Championship

Congratulations to Kenta Treacher who is our 2026 Men’s major Singles Champion. Kenta defeated Tyson Wilson 25-23 in what was a match of the highest standard.
Tyson started the stronger, winning 6 of the first 8 ends to lead 10-3. It was then Kenta’s turn to go on a run, winning 7 of the next 8 ends to take the lead 15-11. The next 4 ends were shared, but then Kenta picked up a score of 3 to take the lead out to 22-14 & only 3 shots away from victory. Tyson would not give up though, winning 5 consecutive ends to make the score 22-21 & now anyone’s game. Kenta then steadied, picking up back to back singles to move within 1 shot of victory, 24-21. A score of 2 to Tyson made the score 24-23 & truly anyone’s game, but it was Kenta who would score the 1 shot he needed, taking the match & the Championship, 25-23. Congratulations to both players who put on a fantastic display of bowls for the spectators both on hand to watch, & those who viewed the match on the Live Stream.
In the Semi Finals, Kenta was in scintillating form, defeating multi time winner Mathew Pietersen 25-11. In the other Semi Final, Tyson got the better of new Saints recruit Travis Moran 25-13.

2026 Brian Rinaldo Men’s Graded Triples

Our annual Brian Rinaldo Men’s Graded Triples was completed today. A full field of 40 teams battled it out over 7 rounds for a share in the $12000 prizemoney. The winners of the event, going through undefeated, were the St Johns Park team of Peter York, Graham Williams & Bryce Billington with 7 wins + 49.

2025/26 Men’s Club Triples Championship

On Sunday, our last Club Championship for 2025/26 was finalised. Congratulations to Peter Warren, Malcolm Walker & Mathew Pietersen who defeated last years champions, David Rysko, Pasquale Scuglia & Adam Troth 32-23 in what was a great game that had everything.

Adam & team flew out of the gates, taking a 19-6 lead after 9 ends. Mathew & team slowly chipped away, scoring 7 shots to 2 over the next 6 ends, cutting the lead to 8, 21-13. It was from this point that team Pietersen made their move, scoring 10 shots over the next 4 ends to take the lead, 23-21 after 19 ends. Team Troth scored a single, but team Pietersen countered with a single & then a 2 to lead 26-23 with 2 ends to play. A score of 3 to Mathew made the score 29-23, meaning Adam & team needed a full count of 6 to force an extra end. It wasn’t to be though, & it was a further 3 shots to team Pietersen, giving them the match & the Championship, 32-23. Congratulations to all 6 players who put on a great Final for the many spectators.

Today saw the running of our annual Easter Monday Mixed Pairs Tournament with a 36 teams vying for a share of the Prizemoney.

Today saw the running of our annual Dave Leggatt Men’s Graded Pairs Tournament. Unfortunately we only had 35 Teams due to a late withdrawal this morning which meant uneven teams & therefore a Bye for 1 team in each round.

2025/26 Men’s Major Pairs Championship

Congartulations to Adam Troth & Gerard Beath who are the 2025/26 Men’s Major Pairs Champions. They defeated defending Champions Ashley Mitchell & Mathew Pietersen 19-18 in an enthralling Final.
Ashley & Mathew started the better, winning 3 of the first 4 ends, including counts of 5 & 4, to take an 11-2. Adam & Gerard then started to find their range, winning 4 consecutive ends, to trim the margin to 3 shots, 12-9. Ashley & Mathew picked up a single shot on the 11th end to make it 13-9. On the next end, with Adam & Gerard holding 3, possibly 4 shots, Mathew would draw shot with his last bowl, however, with his last bowl, Gerard would sit the shot bowl & then trail the jack for a huge 5 shots & take the lead 14-13. They would then pick up a 3 on the next end to extend the lead to 4 shots, 17-13. Single shots to Ashley & Mathew over the next 2 ends made it 17-15 with 3 ends to play. Adam & Gerard then scored single shots of their own on the next 2 ends to make the score 19-15 going into the last end. Chasing a 4 to force an extra end, or 5 to win, Ashley & Mathew peppered the jack, with Mathew trailing the jack a foot to make 4 shots after the skips first 2 bowls. After the leads had finished the 3rd & 4th bowls, it was still Ashley & Mathew holding 4 shots. Gerard would miss narrow with his 3rd bowl, but with his last bowl, sat out one of the counters to make it 2 to Ashley & Mathew. Mathew needed to sit & stay on Gerard’s bowl to make a 4 to force the extra end. In what was a valiant effort, Mathew sat the bowl, but just ran on to far, making a 3 only, which meant that Adam & Gerard would take the match & the title 19-18. Congratulations to all 4 players who put on a great display for the spectators in hot & blustery conditions.
In the Semi Finals, Adam & Gerard were in red hot form, defeating Bryce Billington & Kenta Treacher 25-11. In the other Semi Final, Ashley & Mathew defeated Joseph Clarke & Ben Twist 16-11.

2025/26 Men’s Over 60’s Singles Championship

Congratulations to Peter Bird who is the 2025/26 Men’s Over 60’s Singles Champion. Peter defeated Domenic Mediati 25-23 in a thoroughly enthralling Final.
Peter jumped out of the blocks quickly, collecting a 3, 2 & 4 to lead 9-0. Domenic won the next 2 ends to make the score 9-4, only for Peter to counter, winning the next 2 ends to take a 14-4 lead. Domenic then picked up a 3, but once again, Peter countered, scoring a 1 & 2 to take the score to 17-7. It was at this stage that Domenic would make his charge, winning 5 consecutive ends, including a full count of 4, to trim the margin to 1, 17-16. Not to be outdone, Peter hit back, picking up 6 shots over the next 3 ends, to regain control with a 23-16 lead & only 2 shots from victory. Domenic would not lay down though, winning 3 of the next 4 ends, including another full count of 4, to make the score 24-23 in favour of Peter. Domenic held the 2 shots he needed to win the match, but Peter would not be denied, playing a fantastic shot with his last bowl to take the shot, & the title. Congratulations to both players who put on a great display of Bowls for the spectators.
In the Semi Finals, Peter was in sublime form, defeated an inform Brad Donaldson 25-10. In the other Semi Final, Domenic came from 24-16 down, winning 5 consecutive ends to edge out Gerard Short 25-24 in an absolute cliffhanger.
