Congratulations to David Ferguson who took out the 2023/24 Men’s Major Singles Championship defeating Ben Twist 25-18.
Ben started the better of the two, finding his draw game from the beginning, and jumping out to a 7-1 lead. David then started to find his range, winning 5 out of the next 6 ends to narrow the margin to a single shot, Ben leading 8-7. A count of 3 to Ben saw him extend his lead to 11-7, however, David would then take charge of the match, winning the next 5 ends, picking up 12 shots to jump out to a 19-11 lead. Ben then picked up a 2, only for David to follow up with a maximum count of 4 to lead 23-13. Ben bounced back scoring a 3 to make it 23-16. A single to David put him “all but” at 24-16. Ben managed a 2 on the next end, but then David closed the door on the match, picking up the single shot he needed, to take the match & the title 25-18.

David will now go on to represent St Johns Park at the NSW Champion of Champion Singles at the beginning of May.
