Congratulations to our Saints team of Michael Hoyer, George Bakulic & Julio Posadas who took out the 2023/24 Zone 12 State Senior Triples at Cabramatta on the weekend. They defeated Mt Lewis in the Final 33-19. They Guys were in great form all weekend, winning there first 3 games by scores of 28-12, 29-11 & 27-13. They now go on to represent Zone 12 in the State Playoffs next March.
The Semi Finals & Final of the 2023/24 Zone 12 State Reserve Triples will be played this Saturday at the Birrong Sports Club. Saints have 1 team remaining in the draw with Jason Seaman, Jim Zrilic & Peter Roberts still in contention. We wish them all the best for Saturday.
We had a number of teams in both events which was great to see & all teams performed admirably.

The Final of the Zone 12 State Triples was held on Saturday 12th November at Cabra Vale Diggers Club. The contest was an all St Johns Park fixture with the team of Mathew Pietersen, Craig Donaldson and Ben Twist taking on the team of Ashley Mitchell, Gerard Beath & Kenta Treacher. The match was played in tricky conditions with the wind blustering and the green running 17 seconds.
Kenta and team started the better, going out to a nice 10 shot lead at the halfway mark. Ben and his team then started chipping away, eventually levelling the score at 13 all. Kenta’s team then rallied, doing enough to hold a 5 shot lead with 1 end remaining. Ben and team tried hard but could only manage to score 1 shot on the last end, giving the victory and the Zone 12 State Triples title to Ashley, Gerard & Kenta, 22-18.
Congratulations to both Saints side on reaching the Final and we wish all the best to Ashley, Gerard and Kenta when they go to the State Championships in July 2023.

Josh Berry has added the Zone Singles crown to the trophy cabinet, with a 31-20 win over fellow Saint, Chris Herden.

The final day of play had been postponed due to the inclement weather across Sydney in late March. Sunday saw the semi finals and final played at St Johns Park Bowling Club. Both Berry and Herden were facing opposition from the Cabramatta Bullants, always a battle in itself.

Berry needed to overcome Zac Corr-Johnson, while Herden faced Daniel Farrell. Herden beat Farrell 31-27 in a tight affair, whilst Berry won his semi 31-22 in convincing fashion.

With both Saints members facing each other in the final, there was always going to be success for the Saints – a great achievement by both players. It was Josh Berry who took the final in a convincing 31-20 display.

Berry and Herden will both represent the Zone in the upcoming Inter-Zone event to be held at South Tamworth Bowling Club.
