The winners of the Mens Minor Pairs Championship for 2023/24 is Danny Field and Brendan Ford who defeated John Brady and Jason Seaman 21-14. After dropping a 2 on the first end, Danny and Brendan then won 5 out of the next 6 ends to take a handy 12-3 lead. John and Jason then won 4 out of the next 6 ends to close the gap to 14-8, only for Danny and Brendan to score 6 shots over the next 3 ends to get back to a 12 shot lead at 20-8. John and Jason did win the next 4 ends but could only manage three 1’s and a 3, leaving them needing a full count of 6 on the last end to force an extra end. It wasn’t to be as Danny and Brendan collected a 1 to take out the match and the Championship 21-14.
Congratulations to all players who put on a great display for the large group of spectators. A extra mention to the team of John & Jason who hadn’t met each other until the start of the Championship yesterday.
