LADIES MAJOR SINGLES CHAMPION CROWNED

Congratulations to Dawn Hayman on winning the 2023/24 St Johns Park Ladies Major Singles Championship. In a rematch of last years Final, Dawn defeated Brianna Smith 25-11 in a quality match.

Dawn started well winning the first 4 ends to lead 5-0. The next 4 ends were shared with both players scoring a 3 & a 2 to have the score 10-5 in Dawns favor. Dawn then had the better of the next few ends, picking up three 3’s & 2 singles whilst only conceding a 1 & a 2 to extend her lead to 21-8. Brianna did manage to win 3 of the next 4 ends, but only scoring 1’s to make the score 22-11. That was as close as it would get with Dawn scoring 3 shots over the next 2 ends to take out the match & the title 25-11.

In the Semi Finals, Dawn defeated Chelsea McKay in a great match 25-15. The other semi final saw Brianna have a very hard fought win over Erin Swatridge 25-21.
