Champion Saints

The St Johns Park Saints Grade 4 side are State Champions. In what was a tough campaign, the Saints were exceptional in their quest for the State Flag.

Their Section was tough. A Round 1 win 54-45 (9-1) win over Manly Vale and a heavy 60-40 defeat to Manildra (10-0) meant a must win game on Saturday morning. The side rallied 63-41 (10-0) to secure second position in the section.

Our Saints never looked back sealing the flag, courtesy of 3 dominant displays from the Quarter Finals onwards. A win over Yamba 63-56 in the Quarter Finals and 70-41 Semi Final win put the Saints into the Final on Sunday afternoon.

The final was a big win over Moree Services 71-52, helped significantly by a 40-13 rink win by Jason Seaman, George Bakulic, Mick Berwick and Dom Mediati.

A fantastic performance by the side in the finals matched their efforts all season. They demonstrated the true Saint spirit, they dug in deeply when required and they brought back the coveted State Pennant Flag. Congratulations to all of the team, support staff and the spectators who made the journey to support the side in Wagga Wagga.
