Due to relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions, I am excited to announce that under strict conditions, St Johns Park Bowling Club and Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club will open their doors for trade on Monday 1st June 2020.
The recent Government announcement to ease restrictions on Clubs by allowing them to re-open, has given us extremely limited time to prepare. The health and wellbeing of our customers, staff and suppliers remains our utmost priority and at this time we will be focusing on operations of our larger Clubs to ensure we are compliant with strict conditions that have been imposed by the NSW Government as advised by the NSW Health Authority. At the present time, we will not be opening Wallacia Country Club (Club House) or commencing with lawn bowls at any of our venues until further notice.
After receiving clarification yesterday regarding Club trading conditions, we will be working hard to exceed these expectations by implementing procedures to ensure the health and safety of our patrons is safeguarded.
Conditions include but are not limited to:
- Restrictions on the amount of people allowed in each area, allowing for 1 person for every 4 square meters
- Members and visitors will be required to sign in and out of the venue with their membership cards or photo identification to ensure we don’t exceed limited capacity levels, and also allow for patron notification if there is a case of COVID-19 at our venues. All patrons will be required to submit/update email addresses and/or mobile phone numbers
- Temperature checks on everyone who enters our venues (including staff and contractors)
- Managing patron flow to limit co-mingling between areas
- COVIDsafe Marshalls will be employed to ensure social distancing compliance and promoting good personal hygiene
- Additional cleaning procedures will be in place. We use hospital grade disinfectant at all times and all surfaces will be wiped down regularly
It is promising to see that restrictions are easing at a rapid pace, but further changes are still possible and subject to parliamentary drafting. I will do my best to keep you updated on progress, and hopefully we can reopen our smaller venues and commence lawn bowls in the very near future.
