2024/25 Men’s Triples Championship

The Final of the 2024/25 Men’s Club Triples was played last night, & what a game it was! The matchup saw David Rysko, Pasquale Scuglia & Adam Troth take on Mark Rashleigh, Brendan Ford & Kenta Treacher. Team Troth started well, leading 5-1 after 5 ends. Kenta & team then won the next 5 ends, picking up 11 shots to jump out to a 12-5 lead after 10 ends. Adam & team then won the next 3 ends to close the gap to 2 shots, 12-10 after 13 ends. From that point on, neither team would win consecutive ends. After 16 ends, Kenta’s team led 16-11. Team Troth would then pick up a 4, only for Team Treacher to respond by scoring a 3 to make the score 19-15 after 18 ends to Kenta & team. The next 6 ends saw Adam & team score 5 shots whilst only conceding 3 shots, making the score 22-20 in Kenta’s favour with 1 end remaining. With only the Skips bowls remaining, Team Troth held 1 shot. Kenta then changed the head with his first bowl to take the shot away & hold 1 himself. Not to be outdone, Adam played a terrific conversion shot to go from 1 down to 2 up. Kenta played a running shot but was unsuccessful. Adams last bowl fell just short of making a 3rd shot & getting the win, so it was off to an extra end. After the leads bowls it was neck & neck for shot. Pasquale Scuglia then played a terrific bowl, drawing a front toucher. Brendan’s first bowl just missed trailing the jack, then his 2nd bowl fell just short, so it was advantage Team Troth with only the skips bowls to play. Adam attempted to block Kenta’s path with his first bowl but missed his target. Kenta drove to remove the shot bowl but narrowly missed. Adam’s next bowl finished in a perfect spot to block Kenta off. Kenta drove again for a small gap but missed narrow, giving the shot & the match to Adam & team.

In the Semi Finals, Adam & team defeated Jay Fischer, Daniel Ford & Ashley Mitchell in another close match 24-23. Kenta & team had a 26-13 win over Guarin Tesoriero, Ross Koppman & Ben Twist in the other semi final.
